Disinfecting Makeup and Makeup Brushes!

Well this week I had the DISPLEASURE of having an eye infection! To say the least this has not been fun! While many things including my bed, pillows and sheets needed to be cleaned and disinfected, my makeup that I use daily and makeup brushes needed to be cleaned as well. If you have ever wondered how to deep clean and disinfect these items, follow along!

Cleaning Brushes:

What you will need:
- A cup, disinfecting/ anti-bacterial soap, rubbing alcohol, running water

Step One:
-Select which brushes you want to clean. Add 2-3 pumps of soap into a cup and fill about half way with water. Place brushes in soapy water and let them sit over night (or as long as you wish).
Step Two:
-After brushes have soaked in water, place one small pump of soap into the palm of your hand.
Step Three:
- SCRUB SCRUB SCRUB each brush in your hand. Use your finger tips to squeeze out makeup that is in the brushes, and hold your the brush under running water. (Repeat for all brushes)

Step Four:
-After all brushes are clean gather them all together. Using your rubbing alcohol (spray bottle) mist your brushes, ensuring they will be sanitized.
Step Five:

- Lay your brushes flat to dry! Larger brushes will take longer to dry if most of the water is not squeezed out of them. You may want to mist them with the alcohol one more time just for peace of mind (: They will be ready for use as soon as they are dry!

Disinfecting Makeup:

Step One:

-Well there is only one step. Lay your makeup out and mist with rubbing alcohol. Be careful not to spray to much, you do not want the alcohol to irritate your eyes. In some cases you may want to use a bobby pin and scrap the surface of your makeup before misting!

I hope this helps you lovely divas! Please be sure to throw out mascara, liquid eye liners or anything that has a hand that has touched an infected area! Though you maybe able to clean the wand, the virus may have gotten into the product.

Wishing you all Love & Happiness

Mr. & Mrs. Leighton Scott

Yesterday, August 26th, 2011 , I had the honor of attending the wedding of Leighton and Kristen Scott. It was such a blessing to see love at its finest! With over 100 guests in attendance, the evening was sure to be one full of fun and memories. Their wedding colors were pink, white and black which looked beautiful against the night sky.

I am very thankful to Leighton and Kristen for allowing me to be apart of their lives. They have been like older siblings to me, and they have supported me in everything that I do. All of the dinners, BBQs, game nights and conversations are appreciated by me. I am so happy that you guys will now have each other forever, and I wish you all the best.

I was one of about 10000000 home made photographers (lol) that were in attendance last night. So please enjoy the photographs I have here. Black love is so beautiful! <3

Kristen and Leighton I am wishing you Love & Happiness,

Summer 2011

OMG! What a summer it has been. In a nutshell my summer has been consumed with pageantry, family, school and HEAT!!! I am so thankful for all of the opportunities that have been given to me this summer!! Where should we start?? Hmm lets talk about pageantry!!

This summer has been an AMAZING start to the pageant season. In June I had the pleasure of watching my cousin Arisha Fite win the title of Miss Juneteenth 2011!! Woow I am so proud of her, words cant even explain. Her talent was tap dance, and oh boy did she blow them away! Along with her title, she won the best G.P.A award, hostess award and Miss Congeniality! Like I said I am extremely proud of her! It was really a blessing for her to step into pageantry through the Miss Juneteenth pageant system just as I was leaving. In 2010 I won first princess at the Miss Juneteenth pageant, and on the night of her crowning my court members and I gave up our titles to the beautiful new ladies!

Now lets talk MAO!!!!!! Wooooooow, who would have thought that I would join with the Miss America Organization to serve the community? This summer I competed in two MAO local pageants. Miss Tri-Cities was the first of the two, and let me tell you I HAD A BLAST!! MTC has a five week process leading up to the actual pageant night. There was a total of 9 contestants and we all had a blast getting to know each other. Though I did not place pageant night, I won the Four Points of the Crown award and scholarship, along with the People's Choice award. Thank you so  much, I am honored. Kailee Dunn will do an AMAZING job serving as your Miss Tri-Cities 2011. After competing in the Miss Tri-Cities pageant I decided that I would try competing again this summer in another MAO local, so I joined with the Miss Yakima County organization to start the process all over. I had the pleasure of competing with 5 other dynamic young women. Pageant night I was awarded Miss Congeniality and Second Runner Up!!! I am so proud of my improvement and am again honored to have been voted Miss Congeniality. I am positive that Reina Alece will do an outstanding job serving as Miss Yakima County 2012.  I would like to give a HUGE thank you to the Miss America Organization, Miss Washington Organization, Miss Tri- Cities Organization and the Miss Yakima County Organization for awarding me close to $1,600 dollars in scholarship money this summer!!!! I am so thankful for the many memories, the friendships and the scholarships I have gained this summer. I have been asked several times what my next pageant adventure will be, and honestly I don't know! Maybe I will compete in the Sweeper Pageant,   or Miss Moses Lake? Perhaps I'll go to a national pageant and represent the state of Washington. Or I might take the rest of the season off to train, observe and gear up for next year. I will let God make that decision for me and as soon as he does, I will let my supporters know! (:

Enough of that, even though I could go on with my passion for pageantry forever lol......

I  have been blessed with an AMAZING family and support group. Losing an Uncle to cancer this summer was not easy for us, but we got through it with the help of God. Now we have a new edition, Charlie! My little cousin Charlie will be staying here in Washington with my family from now on. I am so so excited that we will be able to give him a wonderful life and show him a huge amount of love.
Spending time with my mother has been great! I have gotten a lot closer to her and she has helped me through a lot. Being a pageant parent is expensive, and a lot of hard work and I thank her and my father for all of the support I have received from them. My siblings have also been along for the ride, and I am happy to say that ALL of my siblings were at both pageants this summer! A huge thank you goes out to my mother and father, my siblings, my grandparents, the Fite family, the Deadmond family, the Dunbar family, the Jenkins family, my aunt Norma, the French family, Chaune Fitzgerld, Darlene Mercer and if I have forgotten anyone PLEASE forgive me but know that you are appreciated. I am also thankful to my HUGE church family (Morning Star whoop whoop) for always keeping me encouraged and lifted in prayer! And to my CREW!!!!!! Yeah all of my friends are just amazing ! From going out at night to BBQs in the park, wow you guys know how to keep my mind from stressing! Oh and two of my friends are getting married this weekend, yay! I am super excited. I had to say goodbye to a few of my friends that went away to college. Jasmine will definitely be missed, my side kick and all of my other friends will be too! I guess this is a time where we will all have to find new friends, and since I am not going to FAMU this semester I will have to make new friends as well .

Well I know this has been a long post but thanks for reading! More to come soon..

Wishing you Love & Happiness
